Impression and Personal Opinion
This is my Pagani Design PD-1701 review. Just wanted to share a quick watch review of something that really caught me off guard — the Pagani Design PD-1701 Chronograph. I’ve been running HomageSpot for a while now, and I see a lot of homage watches come and go. Some are okay, some not so much, but every once in a while, one really stands out. The PD-1701 is one of those watches.
I wasn’t expecting too much when I ordered it. Pagani Design is known for making decent homage watches at low prices, but this one honestly exceeded my expectations. Right out of the box, the watch had a great feel. It’s got some weight to it (in a good way), and the build quality felt solid.
Design
Let’s be real — this watch is heavily inspired by luxury brands, especially with its square case and racing-style chronograph look. Some might call it a copy, but I see it more as a respectful homage. Pagani added their own touches too, and it doesn’t feel cheap or like it’s trying too hard.
The dial looks fantastic — clean, sporty, and balanced. I got the blue version, and the color really pops in natural light. The sub-dials are easy to read, and the red accents give it a nice racing vibe.
On the Wrist
I have an average wrist, and the size (around 40mm) feels just right. Not too bulky, not too small. The strap that came with it was… okay. Nothing special. I swapped it out pretty quickly for a nice leather one, and now it looks and feels even better. Definitely recommend doing that.
Performance
It runs on a Seiko VK63 mecha-quartz movement, which means it’s super accurate and you still get that satisfying mechanical “snap” when you reset the chronograph. This kind of movement is honestly perfect for a watch like this — reliable, low-maintenance, and cool to use.

Quality Rating
Very good
Surprisingly solid build for the price. The case feels well-made, and the finishing is better than expected. The weak point is the included strap.
8/10
Movement Rating
Good
Powered by the Seiko VK63 mecha-quartz, it’s a reliable and smooth operator. You get accuracy plus that mechanical-style chronograph feel.
5/10
Design Rating
Average
The PD-1701 has a bold and eye-catching square case, clearly inspired by the Monaco. It strikes a nice balance between sporty and classic, and the dial is well thought out. I rated it with 5 point however, as the design is close to other luxury watches.
8/10
Wrist Comfort Rating
Good
The 40mm case wears comfortably and suits most wrists. It has a nice wrist presence without being too chunky, but the default strap holds it back.
10/10
Value for Money Rating
Very good
This is where the PD-1701 really wins. For $130, you get a great-looking, functional chronograph that performs far above its price tag.
Final Thoughts
To keep this PD-1701 review short and honest: yes, it’s absolutely worth it. For under $100, you’re getting a stylish, well-made homage watch that wears great and works even better. No, it’s not a luxury watch, but it doesn’t try to be. It’s just a fun, bold piece that offers a lot for the price.
Out of all the watch reviews I’ve done for HomageSpot, this one definitely stands out. If you like the square chronograph look and want something unique in your collection without breaking the bank, the Pagani Design PD-1701 is a solid pick.

Good
The Pagani Design PD-1701 is a fantastic homage chronograph for the price. While it’s not flawless, its strengths in design, movement, and value far outweigh the minor downsides. If you’re into the square chrono look and want something fun and affordable, this one’s hard to beat.
